On Wednesday (September 18), there was a traffic accident in which a woman was injured. At around 10 a.m., the 87-year-old woman was crossing Liecker Straße on foot near a café in the direction of a pharmacy. When the woman from Heinsberg had almost reached the opposite side of the road, an e-scooter driver approached from the direction of Hochstraße and collided with the right side of the senior citizen's body. The collision caused her to fall onto the road. The driver initially helped the injured woman up, but then fled in the direction of the hospital. The woman was so badly injured that she was taken to hospital by a witness for further treatment.
The fugitive was around 180 to 185 centimetres tall, had short dark hair and was wearing a dark sweatshirt jacket.
